Sandy Bridge Max (Safe) Voltage Under Contention Among Overclockers

It seems that there is some confusion in the enthusiast overclocking community regarding just how much voltage is safe for Intel’s new Sandy Bridge CPUs.  Personally, I agree with those stating anything over 1.38 V is a bad idea unless you are running at least water cooling if not something more exotic.  And even then, while benchmark runs at high voltages to see just what Sandy Bridge is capable of are one thing, running the 32nm CPUs higher than 1.38 volts for 24/7 usage seems ill-advised.  As the manufacturing processes become smaller and smaller, so does the amount of voltage that can be safely pumped through the delicate chips.  It’s just common sense ;-) .  If you really must go beyond 1.38 V, I would strongly advise you audit your cooling setup to make sure it can handle the increased temperatures and have 1.45 be the maximum voltage for daily usage.

Overclocking

That’s only my opinion, however.  I am curious what you think.  Have you gotten your hands on the new Intel processors?  Be sure to drop by theforums and share your experiences!
